Excuse for Student Absence from School

If a student is absent from school for reasons other than a pre-approved educational trip, the student's parent or guardian is required to submit an excuse to the district. 

The absence can be seen in the Parent Portal the day following the student's absence. 

Parents are able to submit the excuse electronically or by completing the Excuse for Absence form and returning it to the child's teacher. 

When possible, please attach a note from the doctor or dentist as these types of absences are coded differently in our system if accompanied by a medical excuse. 

By District Policy, five (5) or more consecutive days of absence requires a doctor's excuse.
